Las excelentes actuaciones de Neymar con la selección de Brasil en la Copa Confederaciones, después de haber firmado su contrato como nuevo jugador del Barcelona, le han encumbrado en lo más alto del fútbol mundial, pero todavía no se ha podido ver al futbolista en acción en Europa, algo que podría pasarle factura, como ya ocurrió en su día con su compatriota Robinho.
La historia de su fichaje por el Barça es prácticamente similar a la de Robinho con el Real Madrid, ambos futbolistas de idénticas características técnicas y que provienen del mismo equipo, el Santos, además de compartir representante, Wagner Ribeiro. Cuando el ahora jugador del Milán llegó al Santiago Bernabéu, toda la prensa se volcó con su fichaje, calificándolo de “mejor jugador de todos los tiempos”, “el nuevo Pelé” y otras perlas similares, al igual que ocurre ahora con Neymar, pero lo cierto es que todo aquello estaba muy lejos de la realidad.
Robinho fichó por el Real Madrid en verano de 2005, y estuvo en la plantilla blanca hasta septiembre de 2008 cuando fue traspasado al Manchester City. De sus tres temporadas en el club de Chamartín su mejor partido fue el día de su debut frente al Cádiz, encuentro en el que maravilló a todos y en el que ofreció su mejor fútbol, pero desde entonces su adaptación al fútbol europeo fue en caída libre hasta la fecha y nunca más se volvió a ver nada de aquella excelente actuación de su primer partido con la camiseta blanca.
Neymar podría seguir los mismos pasos que su antiguo ídolo cuando llegó a Europa, y sufrir igual suerte que el actual jugador del AC Milán. Cuando se dan operaciones como esta, en las que se paga un alto precio por un crack mundial y la expectativa es tan alta, cabe la posibilidad de que la presión pueda con el futbolista y ésta marque definitivamente su carrera.
A veces los agentes y demás personas que rodean a un gran jugador, no se dan cuenta que hay que trabajar la capacidad mental del futbolista, para que pueda adaptarse a un cambio tan grande y así puedan llevar mejor la presión. Esto mismo ha sucedido además de con Robinho, precisamente con Alexis Sánchez en el Barcelona, cuando un delantero de primer nivel como el chileno se ha pasado prácticamente toda la temporada sin ver puerta debido a la ansiedad que le producía ser el “nueve” del club azulgrana.
Pero por si todo esto no fuera suficiente, también hay que contar con el diferente estilo de juego que se encontrará Neymar en España. A diferencia de Brasil, ningún equipo de la Liga BBVA le va a dejar tantos espacios para que pueda lucirse, lo que le pasará factura físicamente y esto a su vez en su estilo de juego. Las defensas europeas marcan al hombre y más sabiendo que clase de jugador tienen delante, algo a lo que el crack brasileño deberá acostumbrarse rápidamente si desea triunfar en el conjunto culé.
Aunque nadie puede dudar del talento innato de Neymar, es muy pronto para compararlo con un histórico como Pelé o con ninguno de los tres mejores futbolistas de la actualidad, Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi o Falcao, ya que todavía le queda mucho camino por recorrer y mucho por demostrar. Su gran oportunidad para subir directamente a la élite del fútbol mundial se la dará el Barcelona la próxima temporada, pero recordemos que los mismos halagos que se llevó en su día Robinho son ahora para el crack azulgrana. Esperemos por el bien de este deporte que no siga la misma trayectoria de su compatriota y que su “paso” por Europa no se quede simplemente en eso.
